What it does? Avalanche MC is the only provider with a comprehensive management solution that manages devices from multiple vendors so one console can manage all mobile devices regardless of manufacturer. Wavelink Avalanche MC is preloaded and/or prelicensed on devices from more manufacturers than all of its competitors combined. With a voice-enabled mobile device, the software can allow a device to function as two-way radio (walkie-talkie). When this is combined with remote management features, it results in huge time and cost savings for the help desk. For example, an end-user can radio their help desk when a problem occurs, and the administrator can then immediately take over the mobile device and get the end user back to work. This eliminates mobile device downtime and keeps end-users on the floor, considerably increasing productivity. With device location mapping organizations can view detailed information regarding the current and past location of devices being managed and how they are being used. The client gathers GPS information including latitude, longitude, heading, speed and location of devices is then provided in a worldwide Web-based map with street-level views. When GPS is unavailable Avalanche can provide location information based on cell tower associations. Wireless infrastructure heat maps predict wireless coverage and device locations can be displayed on a floorplan diagram. The software allows for streamlined provisioning with Scan-to-Configure (scanning a bar code with a device automatically provisions it to a desired profile) and use of Profiles and Groups.
